Hindi manuscript with mould, insect damage and adhered pages.
Posted: July 17, 2023This Hindi manuscript had to be quarantined as mould was present. It had been wet at some time in its history causing pages and ink areas to stick together. It had extensive insect damage and tears and losses. the pages wee very brittle and difficult to handle safely. As a Hindi manuscript, there was sensitivity as to which treatments could and could not be carried out. -

Parish Plan – Over-sized rolled object
Posted: July 17, 2023A large rolled tithe map printed on paper, lined with linen. With twenty two handwritten vellum sheets sewn to the top edge with ribbon, and the remains of a seal. ThisĀ map has sustained heavy damage and loss from being rolled, and getting wet. There are many large losses to areas of paper and severe tears across the entire surface. There is a water staining, mould and rust. Two of the vellum sheets have large losses. -
