Conservation of curtains . Private property.
The curtains were well used and continued to be used on a daily basis. Over time they had suffered damage from use and light, which included splits and fraying of the velvet.

The curtains were surface cleaned prior to stitch treatment. Once this had been done cotton fabric and conservation net was dyed to match the areas of loss. Cotton patches were used to support the splits and a net overlay was use to provided an additional layer of protection.
