Burrell Collection, Glasgow
From 1984 to 1992 I was primarily responsible for the conservation of the medieval stained glass in the Burrell Collection.
Since 1984 I have worked both publicly and privately with the stained glass in the Burrell, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow Museums Stores, the People’s Palace Collection of stained glass, and other in-situ windows belonging to Glasgow City Council.
I was the Stained Glass Conservator in the Burrell Collection from 1984 – 1992, responsible for the safe storage, display and conservation of over 700 stained glass panels, from the 12th – 20th Centuries.
Before I left in 1992 to look after my children, I wrote “Stained Glass in the Burrell Collection”: a guide to Sir William’s love of stained glass, and the history of the techniques which are fully illustrated using examples from the collection.
