About Me
At Dan Humphries Stained Glass Ltd we specialise in the conservation, repair, restoration and cleaning of stained glass, leaded lights and other historic glazing schemes. We pride ourselves on our high levels of craftsmanship and up to date knowledge of conservation ethics, techniques and materials.
Dan Humphries Stained Glass Ltd was established in 2015 and now employs a small dedicated team. This allows us to maintain the highest possible standards in our work.
Before setting up his own business Dan worked for a large stained glass conservation firm for twenty years. He has a BA (hons) degree in Architectural Stained Glass and is an accredited member of ICON (Institute of Conservation).
Dan sits on the Glaziers Trust committee and is an advisor to the Salisbury DAC.
We are based in the South West of England and operate both locally and nationwide.
Client Testimonials
“The Stained Glass windows were in urgent need of repair and cleaning, we employed the services of Dan Humphries Stained Glass. The service we received was excellent, the work was done so efficiently and professionally. The parish were invited to visit the workshop to see the progress while the work was being done. The windows now- after the care that Dan and his team gave them, look wonderful, everyone comments on what a marvellous job they did.” Stained Glass Story Angela Yeoman, church warden, St Leonards Church, Marston Bigot, Somerset.
Angela Yeoman
church warden, St Leonards Church, Marston Bigot, Somerset.“In 2017 we commissioned a major programme of repair and conservation of our 19th Century Rose window. The project included the removal of panels, cleaning, restoration and new ironwork to improve the stability and security of the glass. The project was transformational – bringing vibrant colour and light back to the west end of the cathedral. The Dan Humphries team did a great job – professional and well organised.”
Wendy Matthews,
Chapter clerk, Bristol Cathedral"Dan and his team undertook a major project at Milton Abbey which included window re-leading, in situ repairs, the cleaning and conservation of medieval glass as well as the fabrication of new window guards. The work was executed to a very high standard with the written reports and service provided excellent.”
