Client Testimonials
It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with and learn from Claudia. Her meticulousness extended from her preparation to the works carefully and skilfully executed on-site, to detailed post-completion reporting. Claudia assembled a dedicated and respectful team to work in a highly sensitive and complex context, but it was seemingly all carried out with pleasure. I would be pleased to have the opportunity to work with Claudia again soon.
Bethan Watson
Architect at Caroe ArchitectureClaudia was employed by St John’s Waterloo to conserve two paintings by Hans Feibusch which were commissioned as part of the 1951 restoration following the World War Two bombing of the Church, behind the altar. The upper one of the Crucifixion had suffered particularly over the ensuring years as it was in front of a window with inadequate protection from the elements.
Following the long-term improvements to the projection, recommended by Tobit Curtiss, and part of the 2022 restoration of the Church by Eric Parry Architects, Claudia began her conservation works. She worked collaboratively with the main contractor to ensure the conservation of the two paintings was completed at the same time as the building works in time for the formal reopening.
The conservation carried out by Claudia has brought the paintings back to life and their former glory as the centrepiece of the church. They are now much admired by everyone who comes to the Church and by art historians alike. She completed her work with a very detailed and helpful report for posterity.
She was a pleasure to work with, keeping to both time and budget, and St John’s has no hesitation in recommending her for future commissions.
